Diving

The lake offers depths of up to 33 metres, suitable for a wide range of recreational and technical training activities.

Visibility varies with season and weather conditions but is typically excellent compared with many inland UK dive sites.

Surface temperatures typically range from 10–14°C, while deeper areas of the lake remain a cooler 6–8°C throughout the year. Most divers choose to dive in a drysuit with suitable thermal protection, particularly when undertaking longer or deeper dives. Divers should always select exposure protection appropriate for the conditions and their level of experience.

Soon to be installed. The lake will include dedicated training platforms at various depths to support diver training and skill development.
